Stéphane Hessel is a former diplomat, ambassador, concentration camp survivor and French Resistance fighter. Born German, he became a French citizen in 1939. The author of the best-selling booklet "Indignez-Vous", he was recently the guest of the Council of Europe and the city of Strasbourg, appearing before a live audience of nearly 1,000 people to talk about his life and political philosophy.
