To celebrate World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd, the Council of Europe has invited a panel of top European journalists and experts to discuss how freedom of expression has fared in the last decade. Attacks on journalists and outspoken politicians, as well as new forms of censorship, are some of the issues addressed.

It starts with screams but must never end in silence. In Europe between 12 and 15 per cent of all woman are subjected to violence on a daily basis. The Council of Europe launched a campaign to put an end to this scourge.
